“DARLINGTYN” BRANDING, ALBUM ART, & MERCH
Freelance Contract | Client: Darlingtyn | Location: Philadelphia
ABOUT THE BAND
“Darlingtyn is the love child of Philadelphia musicians Jack Shoudy and Emily MacDonald. Their unique style of Americana has made them a rising act in the Philadelphia folk and jam communities.
Darlingtyn has shared the stage with Andy Frasco, Zach Deputy, Jennifer Hartswick (of Trey Anastasio Band), Zach Nugent, Roots of Creation, The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Steal Your Peach, and Nicholas Cassarino (of The Nth Power). Mixing deeply personal lyrics, vocal harmonies, and a cosmic take on the folk tradition, Darlingtyn brings a unique and powerful new sound to the jam and Americana scenes.”

FINDING THE VIBE OF THE COSMIC FOLK [BAND]
This mood board is the culmination of concepts based on the initial client discussion for the project.
The essence of Darlingtyn’s music is grounded in folk instrumentals decorated with beautiful, melodic female led vocals. We wanted the logo to embody an old-time feel through the implementation of a strong serif font, embellished with organic flourishes to soften its impression and land with naturally, classic elegance.
Darlingtyn expressed interest in an art nouveau inspired album cover, preferably, including a stoic feline. They enjoyed organic elements as well as the circular, mandala framing and interwoven textures through out the examples shown.
These initial discussions were expanded upon in the following logos and sketches which concluded with branding and album art that felt personal and fitting for the group’s body of music.
“ALL THE BEST IDEAS COME OUT OF THE PROCESS; THEY COME OUT OF THE WORK ITSELF.”
